ADVERTISING
Advertise with Medicare Brief
We have not sold advertising yet, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. If you have something you think belongs in front of our readers, write to us and tell us about it. The rules below apply from the first advertisement onward.
Who reads Medicare Brief
People making Medicare decisions, and the family members helping them: those coming up to 65, those already enrolled, and those under 65 who qualify through a disability, ALS or kidney failure.
They arrive with a specific question. Ninety nine articles across nine sections answer them, from what the parts cost and when to enroll, through drug coverage and appeals, to the events that change somebody's coverage mid year.
We do not publish audience figures, because we do not have measured ones. This publication is new and no analytics are running on it. When there are numbers worth quoting they will be measured numbers, and you can hold this paragraph up against whatever we say then.
Where an advertisement can sit
Display placements on article pages and section pages, and one placement in the free weekly letter, which is now open to readers. The space on the page is already built and reserved, so nothing shifts around on the day an advertisement arrives.
Everything is labelled ADVERTISEMENT, every time, without exception.
What we will not accept
Nothing set in our typeface, nothing laid out like a story, and nothing placed where a reader could mistake it for our own writing. No advertiser gets a say in what we cover, and none gets advance sight of it. These are the same rules published on our standards page, written before there was any money to argue with them.
We also do not carry plan enrollment offers, quote forms, or anything that collects a reader's personal or health details under this masthead. Our readers are deciding what to do about their own coverage, and a form that looks like part of an explainer is the one thing most likely to cost them money.
Rates
Not set, and we are not going to invent them. The first advertiser will help set them, and the terms will be written down and published rather than agreed privately and forgotten.
