Read every day, and know where it came from

Everything on this site is free to read, there is nothing to buy, and there is no wall anywhere on it. The one thing to sign up for is the free weekly letter, and it is open.

What it costs

Nothing, and there is nothing to buy. Every article is free, no part of this site is held back for subscribers, and there is no paid tier being planned. If that ever changes, the price and the terms appear on this page before anybody is asked for a card.

Who pays for it

Nothing is sold on this site yet: no advertiser, no sponsor, and nothing paid to read. The rules that will govern advertising when it exists are already written on our standards page, set before there is any money to argue with them.

The free weekly letter

One letter a week: what changed, what it costs, and which deadline is next. Free, no spam ever, and one line to stop.

Email us to join the letter

That opens your own email program with the message already written. Press send and you are on the list. There is no form to fill in and no password to make, and because the request comes from your own mailbox there is no address to mistype.

Your address is used to send you the letter and for nothing else. It is never sold, never shared, and never passed to an advertiser. To stop, reply to any letter with the word stop, or write to hanh@hanhbrown.com, and you come off the list the same day. What we do with it is set out in full on our privacy page.

Questions

Anything that looks wrong, in an article or on this page, goes to the desk that answers it. Contact us, and see our standards for how we handle a complaint about the journalism itself.
