One writer, and a review standard this publication has set for itself and has not yet met. Both of those are printed here rather than implied, because a reader judging health information is entitled to know how many people stand behind it.
Who writes it
Hanh Brown writes every article on this site. There is no second desk and no team of reporters. Ninety nine articles across nine sections, all by the same writer, and the author box at the foot of each article says so by name.
Review, and where it stands
The standard for this publication is a named review by a clinician or benefits specialist who is not the writer, and it is written down on our standards page. No article on this site has had one yet.
Rather than leave that silent, every article states it in the author box, in those words. A health page that simply omits the reviewer line reads as though it had been reviewed, and that is the impression this publication will not give. When the review exists it will be named on the article and dated, and not before.
How a figure gets onto the page
It is read off a government page, printed with the plan year it applies to, and cited at the foot of the article as a link to the page it came from. If a number cannot be sourced that way it does not go on the page at all. Where an article has been checked against its source on a particular day, that day is printed in the author box.
Corrections
Errors are fixed on the record, never silently, and they are listed on the corrections page with the original wording and the date. If you have found one, name the article and the sentence through the contact page.
